Stewards

/ˈstjuː.ərd/ Guardians of the Heirloom
Definition Individuals or groups responsible for the care, maintenance, and intergenerational transmission of shared resources or "Heirlooms." Stewards differ from "owners" in that their primary duty is preservation for the benefit of future users.

Maintenance as Innovation

Digital culture often prizes innovation ("finding the new") over maintenance ("keeping the old"). However, in the Myceloom framework, maintenance is the higher virtue. A Steward works to prevent data rot, link decay, and system obsolescence.

This is the concept of "Move Slowly and Fix Things."

Intergenerational Handover

A Steward's most critical task is succession. A system that depends on a single person is fragile. Stewardship means documenting Tacit Knowledge so that the role can be passed on without interrupting the life of the system.
