Symbiotic Intelligence

/ˌsɪm.baɪˈɒt.ɪk ɪnˈtel.ɪ.dʒəns/ AI Ethics / Framework
Definition A philosophy and design framework for Artificial Intelligence where the goal is mutual enhancement rather than autonomous replacement. It posits that intelligence is inherently collaborative, emerging from the interaction bewteen diverse agents (human, machine, biological).

1+1=3

The core tenet of Symbiosis is that the whole is greater than the sum of its parts. In a Symbiotic Intelligence framework, we do not ask "Can this AI do the job of a human?" but rather "What can this human and this AI achieve together that neither could do alone?"

Enhancement vs. Replacement

Current AI narratives often focus on Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) as a solitary super-mind that renders other forms of cognition obsolete. Symbiotic Intelligence rejects this "Highlander" model ("There can be only one"). Instead, it looks to the forest floor, where trees, fungi, bacteria, and animals form a Myceloom of interdependent cognition.

By engaging properly with Symbiotic Intelligence, we design interfaces (like the Living API) that allow for high-bandwidth collaboration between different substrates of mind.
