Walled Gardens (like the Apple App Store or Facebook) offer convenience and safety, but at the cost of Sovereign Identity and agency. Users are guests, not owners. In the Long Now, Walled Gardens always degrade into prisons.
Tear Down the Wall
Myceloom advocates for Trellis Structures over Walled Gardens. A Trellis provides support for growth (like an API or a standard) but does not enclose the plant. It allows the vine to grow through it and beyond it.
